Pray for Lead Poisoned Children
An Interfaith Prayer Service and International Prayer Chain is being organized for the 11,000 lead-poisoned children of La Oroya, Peru next Friday, March 16 . Catholics, Protestants, Muslims and Hindus are gathering in Peru to pray that the government of Peru will act to protect children's health and the environment from the Doe Run Company, a U.S.-owned metals company that has increased toxic pollution while extracting hundreds of millions of dollars in net profit.
