The deadline is nearing for applications to be received by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) committee tasked with nominating the next Stated Clerk of the General Assembly.

Potential applicants have until midnight, Eastern Standard Time, on December 21, to submit completed applications to the Stated Clerk Nomination Committee (SCNC). Visit the SCNC web page to access the job description and learn the application requirements.

The deadline to receive applications is 180 days from the opening of the 222nd General Assembly (2016), which will begin on June 18, in Portland, Oregon. The committee must declare its nominee no later than 60 days before the opening of the assembly, which is April 19, 2016.

The new clerk will succeed the Reverend Gradye Parsons, who announced in August that he would not stand for a third term. Parsons began working in the Office of the General Assembly in August 2000 and was elected Stated Clerk for his first term in 2008.
