Mission program grants redesigned
Grants intended to increase number of new church developments and support presbyteries work in congregational transformation
A redesign of mission program grants, intended to increase the number of new church developments in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and support the work of presbyteries in congregational transformation, will begin in 2010.
The General Assembly Mission Council endorsed the redesign proposal of the Mission Development Resources Committee (MDRC) in September. Details of the redesign are being finalized.
“This is part of a strategic rethinking of how to do church in the 21st century,” said Philip Lotspeich, coordinator for the PC(USA)’s Office of Church Growth. “These mission program grants encourage local accountability, reward risk taking and enable greater flexibility for the types of ministries considered for these grants.” [Read more]

Church Growth works in partnership with pastors, committees and middle governing bodies to provide training, resources and consultation in planting and growing new congregations.
