Daily Readings

(1) Del maestro de coro, para flautas. Salmo de David.
1 (2-3) Señor, Rey mío y Dios mío,
escucha mis palabras,
atiende a mis gemidos,
oye mis súplicas,
pues a ti elevo mi oración.

3 (4) De mañana escuchas mi voz;
muy temprano te expongo mi caso,
y quedo esperando tu respuesta.
4 (5) No eres tú un Dios que se complace en lo malo;
los malvados no pueden vivir a tu lado,
5 (6) ni en tu presencia hay lugar para los orgullosos.
Tú odias a los malhechores,
6 (7) destruyes a los mentirosos y rechazas a los traidores y asesinos.
7 (8) En cambio yo, por tu gran amor,
puedo entrar en tu templo;
¡puedo adorarte con toda reverencia
mirando hacia tu santo templo!

8 (9) Señor, por causa de mis enemigos
guíame en tu justicia,
llévame por el buen camino.
9 (10) Ellos nunca hablan con sinceridad;
¡están corrompidos por dentro!
Sepulcro abierto es su garganta;
¡su lengua es mentirosa!

10 (11) ¡Castígalos, Dios mío!
¡Haz que fracasen sus intrigas!
Recházalos por sus muchos pecados,
porque se han rebelado contra ti.
11 (12) Alégrense los que buscan tu protección;
canten siempre de alegría
porque tú los proteges.
Los que te aman, se alegran por causa tuya,
12 (13) pues tú, Señor, bendices al que es fiel;
tu bondad lo rodea como un escudo.

¹The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: ²“Come, go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.” ³So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. ⁴The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.

⁵Then the word of the LORD came to me: ⁶Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the LORD. Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. ⁷At one moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, ⁸but if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will change my mind about the disaster that I intended to bring on it. ⁹And at another moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, ¹⁰but if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will change my mind about the good that I had intended to do to it. ¹¹Now, therefore, say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus says the LORD: Look, I am a potter shaping evil against you and devising a plan against you. Turn now, all of you from your evil way, and amend your ways and your doings.

¹There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. ²For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. ³For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, ⁴so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. ⁶To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. ⁷For this reason the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law — indeed it cannot, ⁸and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁹But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. ¹⁰But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. ¹¹If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you.

²⁷“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.” ²⁸Then they said to him, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” ²⁹Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” ³⁰So they said to him, “What sign are you going to give us then, so that we may see it and believe you? What work are you performing? ³¹Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” ³²Then Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. ³³For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” ³⁴They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”

³⁵Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. ³⁶But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. ³⁷Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and anyone who comes to me I will never drive away; ³⁸for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. ³⁹And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. ⁴⁰This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.”

1 (1b) El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación,
¿de quién podré tener miedo?
El Señor defiende mi vida,
¿a quién habré de temer?
2 Los malvados, mis enemigos,
se juntan para atacarme y destruirme;
pero ellos son los que tropiezan y caen.
3 Aunque un ejército me rodee,
mi corazón no tendrá miedo;
aunque se preparen para atacarme,
yo permaneceré tranquilo.

4 Sólo una cosa he pedido al Señor,
sólo una cosa deseo:
estar en el templo del Señor
todos los días de mi vida,
para adorarlo en su templo
y contemplar su hermosura.
5 Cuando lleguen los días malos,
el Señor me dará abrigo en su templo;
bajo su sombra me protegerá.
¡Me pondrá a salvo sobre una roca!
6 Entonces podré levantar la cabeza
por encima de mis enemigos;
entonces podré ofrecer sacrificios en el templo,
y gritar de alegría, y cantar himnos al Señor.

7 A ti clamo, Señor: escúchame.
Ten compasión de mí, ¡respóndeme!
8 El corazón me dice:
«Busca la presencia del Señor.»
Y yo, Señor, busco tu presencia.
9 ¡No te escondas de mí!
¡No me rechaces con ira!
¡Mi única ayuda eres tú!
No me dejes solo y sin amparo,
pues tú eres mi Dios y salvador.
10 Aunque mi padre y mi madre me abandonen,
tú, Señor, te harás cargo de mí.

11 Señor, muéstrame tu camino;
guíame por el buen camino
a causa de mis enemigos;
12 no me entregues a su voluntad,
pues se han levantado contra mí
testigos falsos y violentos.
13 Pero yo estoy convencido
de que llegaré a ver la bondad del Señor
a lo largo de esta vida.

14 ¡Ten confianza en el Señor!
¡Ten valor, no te desanimes!
¡Sí, ten confianza en el Señor!

1 (3) Por tu amor, oh Dios, ten compasión de mí;
por tu gran ternura, borra mis culpas.
2 (4) ¡Lávame de mi maldad!
¡Límpiame de mi pecado!
3 (5) Reconozco que he sido rebelde;
mi pecado no se borra de mi mente.
4 (6) Contra ti he pecado, y sólo contra ti,
haciendo lo malo, lo que tú condenas.
Por eso tu sentencia es justa;
irreprochable tu juicio.

5 (7) En verdad, soy malo desde que nací;
soy pecador desde el seno de mi madre.
6 (8) En verdad, tú amas al corazón sincero,
y en lo íntimo me has dado sabiduría.
7 (9) Purifícame con hisopo, y quedaré limpio;
lávame, y quedaré más blanco que la nieve.
8 (10) Lléname de gozo y alegría;
alégrame de nuevo, aunque me has quebrantado.
9 (11) Aleja de tu vista mis pecados
y borra todas mis maldades.

10 (12) Oh Dios, ¡pon en mí un corazón limpio!,
¡dame un espíritu nuevo y fiel!
11 (13) No me apartes de tu presencia
ni me quites tu santo espíritu.
12 (14) Hazme sentir de nuevo el gozo de tu salvación;
sosténme con tu espíritu generoso,
13 (15) para que yo enseñe a los rebeldes tus caminos
y los pecadores se vuelvan a ti.
14 (16) Líbrame de cometer homicidios,
oh Dios, Dios de mi salvación,
y anunciaré con cantos que tú eres justo.

15 (17) Señor, abre mis labios,
y con mis labios te cantaré alabanzas.
16 (18) Pues tú no quieres ofrendas ni holocaustos;
yo te los daría, pero no es lo que te agrada.
17 (19) Las ofrendas a Dios son un espíritu dolido;
¡tú no desprecias, oh Dios, un corazón hecho pedazos!

18 (20) Haz bien a Sión, por tu buena voluntad;
vuelve a levantar los muros de Jerusalén.
19 (21) Entonces aceptarás los sacrificios requeridos,
las ofrendas y los holocaustos;
entonces se ofrecerán becerros sobre tu altar.
