(1a) De David.
1 (1b) El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación,
¿de quién podré tener miedo?
El Señor defiende mi vida,
¿a quién habré de temer?
2 Los malvados, mis enemigos,
se juntan para atacarme y destruirme;
pero ellos son los que tropiezan y caen.
3 Aunque un ejército me rodee,
mi corazón no tendrá miedo;
aunque se preparen para atacarme,
yo permaneceré tranquilo.

4 Sólo una cosa he pedido al Señor,
sólo una cosa deseo:
estar en el templo del Señor
todos los días de mi vida,
para adorarlo en su templo
y contemplar su hermosura.
5 Cuando lleguen los días malos,
el Señor me dará abrigo en su templo;
bajo su sombra me protegerá.
¡Me pondrá a salvo sobre una roca!
6 Entonces podré levantar la cabeza
por encima de mis enemigos;
entonces podré ofrecer sacrificios en el templo,
y gritar de alegría, y cantar himnos al Señor.

7 A ti clamo, Señor: escúchame.
Ten compasión de mí, ¡respóndeme!
8 El corazón me dice:
«Busca la presencia del Señor.»
Y yo, Señor, busco tu presencia.
9 ¡No te escondas de mí!
¡No me rechaces con ira!
¡Mi única ayuda eres tú!
No me dejes solo y sin amparo,
pues tú eres mi Dios y salvador.
10 Aunque mi padre y mi madre me abandonen,
tú, Señor, te harás cargo de mí.

11 Señor, muéstrame tu camino;
guíame por el buen camino
a causa de mis enemigos;
12 no me entregues a su voluntad,
pues se han levantado contra mí
testigos falsos y violentos.
13 Pero yo estoy convencido
de que llegaré a ver la bondad del Señor
a lo largo de esta vida.

14 ¡Ten confianza en el Señor!
¡Ten valor, no te desanimes!
¡Sí, ten confianza en el Señor!

12 Jerusalén, alaba al Señor;
Sión, alaba a tu Dios.
13 Pues él reforzó los cerrojos de tus puertas
y bendijo a tus hijos dentro de la ciudad.
14 Él trae la paz a tu territorio
y te satisface con lo mejor del trigo.
15 Él envía su palabra a la tierra,
y su palabra corre a toda prisa.
16 Él produce la nieve como si fuera lana,
y esparce la escarcha como si fuera polvo.
17 Él envía el hielo en forma de granizo;
con el frío que envía, el agua se congela.
18 Pero envía su palabra, y la derrite;
hace soplar el viento, y el agua corre.
19 Él dio a conocer a Jacob, a Israel,
su palabra, sus leyes y decretos.
20 No hizo lo mismo con las otras naciones,
las cuales nunca conocieron sus decretos.

¡Aleluya!

¹³  Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness,
          and his upper rooms by injustice;
     who makes his neighbors work for nothing,
          and does not give them their wages;
¹⁴   who says, “I will build myself a spacious house
          with large upper rooms,”
     and who cuts out windows for it,
          paneling it with cedar,
          and painting it with vermilion.
¹⁵  Are you a king
          because you compete in cedar?
     Did not your father eat and drink
          and do justice and righteousness?
          Then it was well with him.
¹⁶  He judged the cause of the poor and needy;
          then it was well.
     Is not this to know me?
          says the LORD.
¹⁷  But your eyes and heart
     are only on your dishonest gain,
     for shedding innocent blood,
          and for practicing oppression and violence.
     ¹⁸Therefore thus says the LORD concerning King Jehoiakim son of Josiah of Judah:
     They shall not lament for him, saying,
          “Alas, my brother!” or “Alas, sister!”"
     They shall not lament for him, saying,
“Alas, lord!” or “Alas, his majesty!”
¹⁹  With the burial of a donkey he shall be buried —
          dragged off and thrown out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

²⁰  Go up to Lebanon, and cry out,
          and lift up your voice in Bashan;
     cry out from Abarim,
          for all your lovers are crushed.
²¹  I spoke to you in your prosperity,
          but you said, “I will not listen.”
     This has been your way from your youth,
          for you have not obeyed my voice.
²²  The wind shall shepherd all your shepherds,
          and your lovers shall go into captivity;
     then you will be ashamed and dismayed
          because of all your wickedness.
²³  O inhabitant of Lebanon,
          nested among the cedars,
     how you will groan when pangs come upon you,
          pain as of a woman in labor!

¹²So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh — ¹³for if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. ¹⁴For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. ¹⁵For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” ¹⁶it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ¹⁷and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ — if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

¹⁸I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. ¹⁹For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; ²⁰for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope ²¹that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. ²²We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; ²³and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. ²⁴For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what is seen? ²⁵But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

²⁶Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. ²⁷And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

⁴¹Then the Jews began to complain about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” ⁴²They were saying, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” ⁴³Jesus answered them, “Do not complain among yourselves. ⁴⁴No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I will raise that person up on the last day. ⁴⁵It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. ⁴⁶Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. ⁴⁷Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. ⁴⁸I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. ⁵⁰This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. ⁵¹I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

1 (1b) Cuando el Señor cambió la suerte de Sión,
nos pareció que estábamos soñando.
2 Entonces nuestra boca y nuestros labios
se llenaron de risas y gritos de alegría;
entonces los paganos decían:
«¡El Señor ha hecho grandes cosas por ellos!»
3 Sí, el Señor había hecho grandes cosas por nosotros,
y estábamos alegres.

4 ¡Señor, haz que cambie de nuevo nuestra suerte,
como cambia el desierto con las lluvias!
5 Los que siembran con lágrimas,
cosecharán con gritos de alegría.
6 Aunque lloren mientras llevan el saco de semilla,
volverán cantando de alegría,
con manojos de trigo entre los brazos.

1   Señor, escucha mi oración;
          ¡permite que mi grito llegue a ti!
2   No escondas de mí tu rostro
          cuando me encuentre angustiado.
     ¡Dígnate escucharme!
          ¡Respóndeme pronto cuando te llame!

3   Pues mi vida se acaba como el humo,
          y mis huesos arden como brasas.
4   Mi corazón está decaído
          como la hierba marchita;
     ¡ni aun deseos tengo
          de comer mi pan!
5   De tanto gemir
          la piel se me pega a los huesos.
6   Soy como una lechuza del desierto,
          como un búho entre las ruinas.
7   No duermo;
          soy como un pájaro solitario en el tejado.
8   Todo el día mis enemigos me ofenden;
          los que se burlan de mí usan mi nombre para maldecir.
9   En vez de pan, como ceniza,
          y mezclo lágrimas con mi bebida,
10  por causa de tu enojo y tu furor;
          pues me alzaste para derribarme.
11  Mis días pasan como una sombra;
          me marchito como la hierba.

12  Pero tú, Señor, estás entronizado para siempre;
          tu nombre perdura por todas las generaciones.
13  Te levantarás y tendrás compasión de Sión,
          porque ya es tiempo de favorecerla;
          ¡la hora ha llegado!
14  Tus siervos aman sus piedras,
          y sienten compasión por su polvo.
15  Las naciones temerán el nombre del Señor,
          y todos los reyes de la tierra tu gloria.
16  Porque el Señor reconstruirá a Sión;
          aparecerá en su gloria.
17  Atenderá la oración del desamparado,
          y no despreciará su súplica.
18  Quede esto escrito para la generación futura,
          para que un pueblo aún no nacido alabe al Señor:
19  que miró desde lo alto de su santuario,
          desde el cielo el Señor contempló la tierra,
20  para escuchar los lamentos de los prisioneros
          y liberar a los condenados a muerte;
21  para que se proclame el nombre del Señor en Sión,
          y su alabanza en Jerusalén,
22  cuando se reúnan los pueblos,
          y los reinos, para adorar al Señor.

23  Él ha quebrado mi fuerza en pleno camino;
          ha acortado mis días.
24  "Dios mío," digo yo, "no me lleves
          a la mitad de mi vida,
     tú, cuyos años
          duran por todas las generaciones."

25  Hace mucho afirmaste los cimientos de la tierra,
          y los cielos son obra de tus manos.
26  Ellos perecerán, pero tú permaneces;
          todos ellos se gastarán como un vestido.
     Los cambiarás como ropa, y pasarán;
27       pero tú eres el mismo, y tus años no tienen fin.
28  Los hijos de tus siervos habitarán seguros;
          sus descendientes se establecerán en tu presencia.
