Daily Readings

1   ¡Cuán hermoso es tu santuario,
          Señor todopoderoso!
2   ¡Con qué ansia y fervor
          deseo estar en los atrios de tu templo!
     ¡Con todo el corazón
          canto alegre al Dios de la vida!

3   Aun el gorrión y la golondrina
          hallan lugar en tus altares
          donde hacerles nido a sus polluelos,
     oh Señor todopoderoso,
          Rey mío y Dios mío.
4   ¡Felices los que viven en tu templo
          y te alaban sin cesar! Selah

5   ¡Felices los que en ti encuentran ayuda,
          los que desean peregrinar hasta tu monte!
6   Cuando pasen por el valle de las Lágrimas
          lo convertirán en manantial,
          y aun la lluvia lo llenará de bendiciones;
7   Irán sus fuerzas en aumento,
          y en Sión verán al Dios supremo.

8   Señor, Dios todopoderoso,
          Dios de Jacob,
          ¡escucha mi oración! Selah
9   Mira, oh Dios, con buenos ojos
          a aquel que es nuestro escudo,
          a quien tú has escogido como rey.

10   ¡Más vale estar un día en tus atrios,
          que mil fuera de ellos!
     Prefiero ser portero del templo de mi Dios,
          que vivir en lugares de maldad.
11   Porque Dios el Señor nos alumbra y nos protege;
          el Señor ama y honra a los que viven sin tacha,
          y nada bueno les niega.

12   Señor todopoderoso,
          ¡felices los que en ti confían!

¡Alábenlo en su majestuosa bóveda celeste!
2 ¡Alábenlo por sus hechos poderosos!
¡Alábenlo por su grandeza infinita!

4 ¡Alábenlo danzando al son de panderos!
¡Alábenlo con flautas e instrumentos de cuerda!
5 ¡Alábenlo con platillos sonoros!

6 ¡Que todo lo que respira alabe al Señor!

¹The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, ²to whom the word of the LORD came in the days of King Josiah son of Amon of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. ³It came also in the days of King Jehoiakim son of Josiah of Judah, and until the end of the eleventh year of King Zedekiah son of Josiah of Judah, until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month.

⁴Now the word of the LORD came to me saying,
⁵   “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
     and before you were born I consecrated you;
     I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
⁶Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.” ⁷But the LORD said to me,
     “Do not say, ‘I am only a boy’;
     for you shall go to all to whom I send you,
     and you shall speak whatever I command you.
⁸   Do not be afraid of them,
     for I am with you to deliver you,
                              says the LORD.”
⁹Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth; and the LORD said to me,
     “Now I have put my words in your mouth.
¹⁰  See, today I appoint you over nations and over kingdoms,
     to pluck up and to pull down,
     to destroy and to overthrow,
     to build and to plant.”

¹¹For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. ¹²Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw — ¹³the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done. ¹⁴If what has been built on the foundation survives, the builder will receive a reward. ¹⁵If the work is burned, the builder will suffer loss; the builder will be saved, but only as through fire.

¹⁶Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?¹⁷If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.

¹⁸Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. ¹⁹For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,
     “He catches the wise in their craftiness,”
²⁰and again,
     “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise,
          that they are futile.”
²¹So let no one boast about human leaders. For all things are yours, ²²whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future — all belong to you, ²³and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

^3:31Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. ³²A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you.” ³³And he replied, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” ³⁴And looking at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! ³⁵Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

^4:1Again he began to teach beside the lake. Such a very large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat on the lake and sat there, while the whole crowd was beside the lake on the land. ²He began to teach them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: ³“Listen! A sower went out to sow. ⁴And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. ⁵Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and it sprang up quickly, since it had no depth of soil. ⁶And when the sun rose, it was scorched; and since it had no root, it withered away. ⁷Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. ⁸Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.” ⁹And he said, “Let anyone with ears to hear listen!”

1   Como ciervo sediento en busca de un río,
          así, Dios mío, te busco a ti.
2   Tengo sed de Dios,
          del Dios de la vida.
     ¿Cuándo volveré a presentarme
          ante Dios?
3   Día y noche, mis lágrimas son mi alimento
          mientras a todas horas me preguntan:
     "¿Dónde está tu Dios?"

4   Estas cosas recuerdo
          al dar rienda suelta a mi dolor:
     cómo marchaba con la multitud
          conduciéndola al templo de Dios,
     entre gritos de alegría y gratitud,
          una multitud en fiesta.
5   ¿Por qué voy a desanimarme, oh alma mía,
          y por qué estar turbada dentro de mí?
     Espera en Dios, pues aún he de alabarlo,
          mi salvación y mi Dios.

6   Mi alma está abatida dentro de mí;
          por eso me acuerdo de ti
     desde la tierra del Jordán y del Hermón,
          desde el monte Misar.
7   Un abismo llama a otro
          al estruendo de tus cascadas;
     todas tus ondas y tus olas
          han pasado sobre mí.
8   De día el Señor mandará su misericordia,
          y de noche su canto estará conmigo,
          una oración al Dios de mi vida.

9   Diré a Dios, mi roca:
          "¿Por qué me has olvidado?
     ¿Por qué he de andar lamentándome
          oprimido por el enemigo?"
10  Como quien tiene herida mortal en los huesos,
          mis adversarios me afrentan,
     mientras me dicen constantemente:
          "¿Dónde está tu Dios?"

11  ¿Por qué voy a desanimarme, oh alma mía,
          y por qué estar turbada dentro de mí?
     Espera en Dios, pues aún he de alabarlo,
          mi salvación y mi Dios.

1 Feliz el hombre a quien sus culpas y pecados
le han sido perdonados por completo.
2 Feliz el hombre que no es mal intencionado
y a quien el Señor no acusa de falta alguna.

3 Mientras no confesé mi pecado,
mi cuerpo iba decayendo
por mi gemir de todo el día,
4 pues de día y de noche
tu mano pesaba sobre mí.
Como flor marchita por el calor del verano,
así me sentía decaer.

5 Pero te confesé sin reservas
mi pecado y mi maldad;
decidí confesarte mis pecados,
y tú, Señor, los perdonaste.

6 Por eso, en momentos de angustia
los fieles te invocarán,
y aunque las aguas caudalosas se desborden,
no llegarán hasta ellos.
7 Tú eres mi refugio:
me proteges del peligro,
me rodeas de gritos de liberación.

8 El Señor dice:
«Mis ojos están puestos en ti.
Yo te daré instrucciones,
te daré consejos,
te enseñaré el camino que debes seguir.
9 No seas como el mulo o el caballo,
que no pueden entender
y hay que detener su brío
con el freno y con la rienda,
pues de otra manera no se acercan a ti.»

10 Los malvados tendrán muchos dolores,
pero el amor del Señor envuelve
a los que en él confían.
11 Alégrense en el Señor,
hombres buenos y honrados;
¡alégrense y griten de alegría!
