1 Oh Dios, hazme justicia;
¡ponte de mi parte contra esta gente pagana!
¡Ponme a salvo del mentiroso y del malvado,
2 porque tú eres mi Dios y protector!
¿Por qué me has alejado de ti?
¿Por qué tengo que andar triste
y oprimido por mis enemigos?
3 Envía tu luz y tu verdad,
para que ellas me enseñen el camino
que lleva a tu santo monte,
al lugar donde tú vives.
4 Llegaré entonces a tu altar, oh Dios,
y allí te alabaré al son del arpa,
pues tú, mi Dios, llenas mi vida de alegría.

5     ¿Por qué voy a desanimarme?
    ¿Por qué voy a estar preocupado?
    Mi esperanza he puesto en Dios,
    a quien todavía seguiré alabando.
    ¡Él es mi Dios y Salvador!

1 ¡Aleluya!

Canten al Señor un canto nuevo;
alábenlo en la comunidad de los fieles.
2 Alégrense los israelitas, el pueblo de Sión,
porque Dios es su Creador y Rey.
3 Alaben su nombre con danzas,
cántenle himnos al son de arpas y panderos.
4 Porque el Señor se complace en su pueblo;
da a los humildes el honor de la victoria.
5 Alégrense los fieles con el triunfo,
y aun dormidos canten de alegría.
6 Haya alabanzas a Dios en sus labios,
y en su mano una espada de dos filos
7 para vengarse de los paganos,
para castigar a las naciones,
8 para encadenar a los reyes y gente poderosa
con pesadas cadenas de hierro,
9 para cumplir en ellos la sentencia escrita.
¡Esto será una honra para todos sus fieles!

²⁰  Declare this in the house of Jacob,
          proclaim it in Judah:
²¹  Hear this, O foolish and senseless people,
          who have eyes, but do not see,
          who have ears, but do not hear.
²²  Do you not fear me? says the LORD;
          Do you not tremble before me?
     I placed the sand as a boundary for the sea,
          a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;
     though the waves toss, they cannot prevail,
          though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
²³  But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart;
          they have turned aside and gone away.
²⁴  They do not say in their hearts,
          “Let us fear the LORD our God,
     who gives the rain in its season,
          the autumn rain and the spring rain,
     and keeps for us
          the weeks appointed for the harvest.”
²⁵  Your iniquities have turned these away,
          and your sins have deprived you of good.
²⁶  For scoundrels are found among my people;
          they take over the goods of others.
     Like fowlers they set a trap;
          they catch human beings.
²⁷  Like a cage full of birds,
          their houses are full of treachery;
     therefore they have become great and rich,
²⁸       they have grown fat and sleek.
     They know no limits in deeds of wickedness;
          they do not judge with justice
     the cause of the orphan, to make it prosper,
          and they do not defend the rights of the needy.
²⁹  Shall I not punish them for these things?
                                                                      says the LORD,
     and shall I not bring retribution
     on a nation such as this?

³⁰  An appalling and horrible thing
          has happened in the land:
³¹  the prophets prophesy falsely,
          and the priests rule as the prophets direct;
     my people love to have it so,
          but what will you do when the end comes?

¹⁹Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. ²⁰For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²¹But now, irrespective of law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, ²²the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, ²³since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; ²⁴they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood, effective through faith. He did this to show his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed; ²⁶it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the one who has faith in Jesus.

²⁷Then what becomes of boasting? It is excluded. By what law? By that of works? No, but by the law of faith. ²⁸For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law. ²⁹Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, ³⁰since God is one; and he will justify the circumcised on the ground of faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. ³¹Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

¹After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He did not wish to go about in Judea because the Jews were looking for an opportunity to kill him. ²Now the Jewish festival of Booths was near. ³So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples also may see the works you are doing; ⁴for no one who wants to be widely known acts in secret. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” ⁵(For not even his brothers believed in him.) ⁶Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. ⁷The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify against it that its works are evil. ⁸Go to the festival yourselves. I am not going to this festival, for my time has not yet fully come.” ⁹After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

¹⁰But after his brothers had gone to the festival, then he also went, not publicly but as it were in secret. ¹¹The Jews were looking for him at the festival and saying, “Where is he?” ¹²And there was considerable complaining about him among the crowds. While some were saying, “He is a good man,” others were saying, “No, he is deceiving the crowd.” ¹³Yet no one would speak openly about him for fear of the Jews.

1 (2) Señor, en ti busco protección;
¡no me defraudes jamás!
¡Ponme a salvo, pues tú eres justo!
2 (3) Dígnate escucharme;
¡date prisa, líbrame ya!
Sé tú mi roca protectora,
¡sé tú mi castillo de refugio y salvación!
3 (4) ¡Tú eres mi roca y mi castillo!

¡Guíame y protégeme; haz honor a tu nombre!
4 (5) ¡Sácame de la trampa que me han tendido,
pues tú eres mi protector!
5 (6) En tus manos encomiendo mi espíritu;
¡rescátame, Señor, Dios de la verdad!

6 (7) Odio a los que adoran ídolos inútiles.
He puesto mi confianza en el Señor.
7 (8) Tu amor me trae gozo y alegría.
Tú has visto mis tristezas,
conoces mis aflicciones;
8 (9) no me entregaste en manos del enemigo;
¡me hiciste poner pie en lugar seguro!

9 (10) Señor, ten compasión de mí,
pues estoy en peligro.
El dolor debilita mis ojos,
mi cuerpo, ¡todo mi ser!
10 (11) ¡El dolor y los lamentos
acaban con los años de mi vida!
La tristeza acaba con mis fuerzas;
¡mi cuerpo se está debilitando!

11 (12) Soy el hazmerreír de mis enemigos,
objeto de burla de mis vecinos,
horror de quienes me conocen.
¡Huyen de mí cuantos me ven en la calle!
12 (13) Me han olvidado por completo,
como si ya estuviera muerto.
Soy como un jarro hecho pedazos.
13 (14) Puedo oír que la gente cuchichea:
«Hay terror por todas partes.»
Como un solo hombre, hacen planes contra mí;
¡hacen planes para quitarme la vida!

14 (15) Pero yo, Señor, confío en ti;
yo he dicho: «¡Tú eres mi Dios!»
15 (16) Mi vida está en tus manos;
¡líbrame de mis enemigos, que me persiguen!
16 (17) Mira con bondad a este siervo tuyo,
y sálvame, por tu amor.
17 (18) A ti clamo, Señor;
¡no me hundas en la vergüenza!
¡Hunde en la vergüenza a los malvados;
húndelos en el silencio del sepulcro!
18 (19) Queden en silencio los labios mentirosos,
que hablan con burla y desprecio,
y ofenden al hombre honrado.

19 (20) ¡Qué grande es tu bondad para aquellos que te honran!
La guardas como un tesoro
y, a la vista de los hombres,
la repartes a quienes confían en ti.
20 (21) Con la protección de tu presencia
los libras de los planes malvados del hombre;
bajo tu techo los proteges
de los insultos de sus enemigos.

21 (22) Bendito sea el Señor, que con su amor
hizo grandes cosas por mí
en momentos de angustia.
22 (23) En mi inquietud llegué a pensar
que me habías echado de tu presencia;
pero cuando te pedí ayuda,
tú escuchaste mis gritos.

23 (24) Amen al Señor, todos sus fieles.
El Señor cuida de los sinceros,
pero a los altaneros
les da con creces su merecido.
24 (25) Den ánimo y valor a sus corazones
todos los que confían en el Señor.

¹   Señor, escucha mi oración;
pon atención a mi súplica.
¡Respóndeme, pues tú eres justo y fiel!
²   No llames a cuentas a tu siervo,
porque ante ti nadie es inocente.

³   Mis enemigos me persiguen,
me han aplastado contra el suelo;
me obligan a vivir en la oscuridad,
como los que han muerto hace tiempo.
⁴   Me encuentro totalmente deprimido;
turbado tengo el corazón.

⁵   Me acuerdo de tiempos anteriores,
y pienso en todo lo que has hecho.
⁶   Hacia ti tiendo las manos,
sediento de ti, cual tierra seca.                    Selah

⁷   Señor, ¡respóndeme pronto,
pues ya se me acaba el aliento!
No me niegues tu ayuda,
porque entonces seré como los muertos.
⁸   Por la mañana hazme saber de tu amor,
porque en ti he puesto mi confianza.
Hazme saber cuál debe ser mi conducta,
porque a ti dirijo mis anhelos.

⁹   Líbrame, Señor, de mis enemigos,
porque en ti busco refugio.
¹⁰  Enséñame a hacer tu voluntad,
porque tú eres mi Dios.
¡Que tu buen espíritu me lleve
por un camino recto!

¹¹  Por tu nombre, Señor, ¡hazme vivir!
Porque eres justo, ¡sácame de la angustia!
¹²  Porque eres fiel, ¡destruye a mis enemigos!
¡destruye a todos mis enemigos, pues yo soy tu siervo!
