All the news fit to print on the 222nd General Assembly (2016) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will be available electronically as a newspaper this year for the very first time.

General Assembly News, the official assembly newspaper, will be online, making news accessible to readers both on site at the biennial meeting taking place in Portland, Oregon, and across the country and world.

Go to www.pcusa.org/ganews at 6 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time/9 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time to view the paper from Saturday, June 18, through Sunday, June 25. The editions also will be downloadable and archived.

The paper, which has been a go-to news source for assembly attendees for years, features everything from committee actions and plenary votes to worship services and special events. It is produced by the Office of the General Assembly (OGA), with the help of a cadre of staff and volunteers.

“It was past time for us to share the vital information reported in General Assembly News with the rest of the Presbyterian world, and with readers in general,” said Toya Richards, director of communications for OGA and an Assistant Stated Clerk. “The goal is to help people feel more connected to the business and events of the assembly.”

People also can stay abreast of General Assembly actions via live stream. All plenary sessions and worship services can be viewed at www.pcusa.org/ga222 beginning at 11 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on June 18. The business before the assembly is available at www.pc-biz.org.
