Fall is quickly approaching and as churches begin planning for Advent this year, Westminster John Knox Press is pleased to announce the publication of two exciting new devotionals for the season.

Popular biblical scholar and author N.T. Wright adds a new devotional in his best-selling Advent for Everyone series. Each book in the series provides readers with an inspirational guide through the season, from the first Sunday in Advent through the Saturday after the Fourth Sunday of Advent. In this latest addition, Advent for Everyone: Matthew: A Daily Devotional, Wright’s brief Scripture translation and reflection guide readers through the wonder and joy of Christmas, addressing themes like Jesus’ authority to forgive and heal, the call to share His love with others, and repentance and personal purity.

In Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes: An Advent Study, Cynthia M. Campbell answers the question: How might a house look for Christmas based on what each Gospel says about it? Beautiful illustrations by architect Kevin Burns creatively reimagine each of the four Gospels as a “house,” which the church visits at Christmas. For each week of Advent, Cynthia M. Campbell reflects on the distinctive perspective of the birth of Jesus or the incarnation offered by each Gospel.

Advent for Everyone: Matthew: A Daily Devotional and Christmas in the Four Gospel Homes: An Advent Study are now available from Westminster John Knox Press and are suitable for group or individual study.
