Inspire a journey of prayer and faith-sharing with Engage, a new curriculum based on the well-loved Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) program of the same name.
Engage—developed in partnership with the office of Evangelism of the PC(USA) and Congregational Ministries Publishing—connects the church with its community and equips members to live out and share their growing faith.
Organized in three parts—Engage: Gospel, Engage: Discipleship, and Engage: Mission— each seven-session curriculum resource makes spreading the good news of Jesus Christ easier for growing disciples.
“Engage will help our churches reach and serve people by focusing on developing disciples,” said David Loleng, associate for evangelism.
“As people claim and live into their own stories of transformation, they will join in God’s transforming mission in their neighborhoods,” added Ray Jones, coordinator for evangelism.
Effective evangelism starts with personal transformation, as well as the desire to see the same transformation in friends and the community. With Engage, participants are called to become people who live into and help others deal with the big questions of life: Is there something more? Does life have meaning and purpose? Where do we belong? Where is our community?
Jerry Cannon, pastor of C. N. Jenkins Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, said, “I had no idea of the ripple effect of Engage on people’s lives.”
Engage: Gospel is available for purchase at store.pcusa.org or by calling the Presbyterian Distribution Service at (800) 524-2612. Engage: Discipleship will be available in June 2013, followed by Engage: Mission at a later date.
