LOUISVILLE — Ten members of Dallas’ Highland Park Presbyterian Church were ambushed by bandits while on a mission trip to Kenya earlier this month, according to a story in today’s (Aug. 22) Dallas Morning News.
According to the report, the group was traveling through remote jungle on the way to install an irrigation system on Aug. 13 when they were accosted by bandits.
No one was seriously hurt in the attack. The attackers were armed with rifles and a machete.
Church members said it was the first time in many years of mission trips that there has been any trouble.
