Educator certification has the same requirements for all educators. They are achieved in differing ways, however. Teaching elders will have achieved some of the educational requirements through the M.Div. degree and ordination exams. Other educators may complete requirements through the certification-approved courses offered in various sites. Connecting with a presbytery-appointed Certification Advisor and completing the certification application as well as reading through the Educator Certification Handbook will make more of the requirements clear.

I am already an ordained teaching elder serving a church full-time and considering a part-time teaching job at a Christian school. How would I go about being certified?

Certification courses are offered by course providers and, therefore, have differing costs. Some are connected to conferences while others are stand-alone courses. Please contact the person listed for each course to find out about associated costs.
