Claire Turney

Hey! I’m Claire :) Though I’m originally from Atlanta, I’ve spent the past 4 years in Charlottesville, Virginia at UVA! I just graduated in May 2025 with double majors in Religious Studies and African and African American Studies. I’m passionate about justice, care, and God. I’m excited to explore these passions during my YAV year and through a lifetime of ministry. 

I’ll be serving as a YAV in New Orleans working with Okra Abbey—a community garden in the Pigeontown neighborhood— and NOLA Wesley—an open and affirming campus ministry for Tulane and Loyola students. 

I love rugby, karaoke, and the mountains. Yay!
