Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

PDA is monitoring the flooding in Washington state through the state VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and contacts with impacted presbyteries and synods. We give thanks for Northwest Coast Presbytery’s quick response to the needs of their community—Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church is serving as a Red Cross shelter, First Presbyterian Church Snohomish provided sandbags to neighbors, and Mt. Baker Presbyterian Church is sheltering a partner organization in their church hall. We are in communication with presbyteries to facilitate emergency grants and possible NRT deployments.
