Building Beloved Communities: Dismantling Structural Racism
A beloved community is one in which people relate in just siblinghood wit one another, recognizing and valuing racial and ethnic difference while honoring each other and living together for the common good/kin-dom of God. Racism is a sin. We are all created in God's image and called to love god with all our heart, mind and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. Racism in the U.S. is more than an individual's beliefs and attitudes; it is a socially constructed system. The PC(US) is strongly committed to the struggle for racial justice and recommends visiting the Racial Equity Ministry.
