Register for the Second Annual Festival of Choirs
Presbyterian Association of Musicians brings harmony and hope to Mid-South Region
The Presbyterian Association of Musicians Mid-South Region is proud to present the Second Annual Festival of Choirs, a vibrant celebration of sacred music and community, taking place Sept. 12–13 at First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Tennessee.
This two-day event is designed to uplift and equip church choir directors and members, especially those from small congregations. With a focus on accessible anthems — musical selections that are easy to learn and perform with limited vocal forces — the festival offers a welcoming space for choirs of all sizes to gather, sing and grow together in faith and fellowship.
To register or learn more, visit the Mid-South Region page. Early bird rate is available until Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The Festival of Choirs is open to all church musicians, regardless of experience or ensemble size. The repertoire has been carefully curated to include pieces that feature unison sections, repeated material, and flexibility in vocal arrangement. These traits make the music approachable for choirs with as few as one or two singers per part, ensuring that even the smallest congregations can participate fully and joyfully.
This year’s repertoire includes:
- "Abana" — arr. Greg Scheer
- "Be Thou My Vision" — arr. Alice Parker
- "Christ Has Broken Down the Wall" — Mark Miller
- "Come, O Thou Traveler Unknown" — arr. David Mennicke
- "O Give Thanks to the Lord" — Jody Brown and Jeff McGaha
- "True Light" — Keith Hampton
- "You Are Holy" — arr. John Helgen
Copies of all music will be provided to participants at check-in, making preparation easy and inclusive.
