Presbyterians to gather in Louisville for National Queer Presbyterian Gathering
Registration now open. Early bird rates and scholarships available.
LOUISVILLE — The National Queer Presbyterian Gathering (NQPG) will take place Nov. 18–20, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, offering three days of worship, workshops and community for LGBTQIA+ Presbyterians under the theme “Abiding in Truth and Love.”
Hosted by the Interim Unified Agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in partnership with More Light Presbyterians, Covenant Network of Presbyterians, the Advocacy Committee for LGBTQIA+ and other affirming ministries, the gathering is designed to center queer voices in the life of the PC (USA) and to foster a space of affirmation, connection and celebration.
The event will feature a keynote address by Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, a nationally recognized faith leader, activist and advocate for justice and radical inclusion. A third-generation preacher and native of San Francisco, Flunder founded City of Refuge United Church of Christ in 1991 to serve marginalized communities, especially LGBTQIA+ individuals. She is the presiding bishop of the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries, a coalition of primarily African American Christian leaders committed to full inclusion.
Flunder has long been a leading voice in the movement for LGBTQIA+ rights and public health. She stood on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court before the 2015 Marriage Equality decision and served on the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. In 2021, she was one of five LGBTQIA+ faith leaders invited to Joe Biden’s presidential inaugural prayer service. She is also the author of “Where the Edge Gathers: A Theology of Homiletic and Radical Inclusion.”
Registration is now open at pcusa.org/nqpg, where attendees can also find information about travel, lodging and scholarship opportunities.
