Work Completed on New Form of Government
December 10, 2007: The Form of Government Task Force, established by the 217th General Assembly (2006), was charged with presenting to the 218th General Assembly (2008) a proposed revision of the Form of Government.
The Form of Government Task Force Report and Recommendations to the 218th General Assembly is now available.
The report contains:
"Foundations of Presbyterian Polity" – proposed replacement for Chapters I-IV of the Form of Government. (Compare to the current Form of Government. )
"Form of Government" – proposed replacement for Chapters V-XVIII of the Form of Government (Compare to the current Form of Government. )
"Advisory Handbook for Councils for the Development of Policies and Procedures Required by the Form of Government" – an integral component of the proposed revised Form of Government
